Impressive card
By Kelly
Impressive describes this card. Only thing I have that can stress this card is playing Crysis 2, DirectX 11 patch, high-resolution pack, all settings cranked to the max available. No abnormalities or slowdowns on any of the levels as long as I keep the card temperature down. Heaven DX11 Benchmark runs flawlessly without any issues, even with the fan sitting at default idle speed.

From card running at idle to full load underneath Crysis 2, the total wattage increase is only 200 watts. At idle it seems to draw 10 watts more than the ATI 5770 card it replaced.

Card has over twice the raw thru put of the previous card it replaced but the GPU rendering in Sony Vegas only improved 20% which indicates the drivers need serious work to improve it. Photoshop CS identifies the ATI OpenCL drivers and gives full GPU acceleration.

Sitting at idle, the card temperature is 57°C while the motherboard and CPU are sitting at 85°F! Default fan speed is to slow and allows the card to heat up to much whether at idle or at max. Setting the fan speed to 40% drops the temperature over 12°C without much noise. When playing games, I manually set the fan speed to 50-60% to keep the temps down in the 60-65°C range. The fan is loud at the higher speeds, but its low pitch sound makes it more bearable. At 100% it's impressive the amount of air it can move and how loud it is.

In my computer, the card has a 230mm fan on the left, two 140mm fans to the front, two 120mm fans to the back, and another 230 mm fan above so the card has cool air blowing across it at all times. When playing Crysis 2 or GPU rendering, it's impressive the amount of heat the card blows out of its vents. If you have a computer that normally runs hot, I'd look at one of the other brands with multiple fans. Many people have reported cards that run much cooler than this one, but others have cards that have temps like mine.

I'd prefer a higher stock fan speed even with more noise. The temps are the only reason I don't rate it 5 stars.

Fantastic card
By Saad
Runs perfect and at 1125/1575 clocks all day without any voltage adjustment. Package came with two important cables that are usually not shipped with any cards except Sapphire. Overall my first Diamond card and a very pleasant experience. 10/10.

Simply amazing, very happy with it
By blehstor
I purchased this card to replace an AMD 5770. I've replaced the stock bios with a 7970 GHz bios (official release) which increases stock clocks from 925/1375 to 1050/1500. The card runs at these speeds perfectly with no increase in temperatures. I get 30-35° in idle and 70-75° at full load in the most demanding games. Battlefield 3 runs super smooth at 1920x1080 as well as all recent games i've tried (Arkham City, Dota 2, Skyrim, Starcraft 2, etc.) The card is not noisy at all. I still have plenty of room to overclock but so far the current speeds are more than enough. I'd recommend this card to anyone who wants to enjoy smooth gameplay with little noise and a medium budget.
